Re: Support for Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets Clean Team
Assistant Director Love:
I am a neighborhood commissioner along one of the key neighborhood commercial sectors in Dupont Circle: namely, the 17th Street commercial corridor, which runs along 17th Street, NW from P to Riggs Streets, NW.
In the two years that I have been a commissioner, I have noticed a marked improvement in the appearance of 17th Street, due in no small part to the Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets Clean Team. The Team has become an integral part of the operation of Dupont Circle, and contributes to the health, safety and vitalization of the entire neighborhood.
As you are undoubtedly aware, the Team works six days a week cleaning, sweeping, picking up leaves and trash, removing snow and bulk trash items, emptying overflowing city garbage cans, weeding, and removing illegal posters, stickers, and graffiti. It is vital to the continued success of the 17th Street commercial corridor for the Team to retain its funding moving forward.
Thank you for your continued support of this program. If you need any additional information as you move toward making decisions, I can be reached at 202-747-0507.
Regards,
Jack Jacobson
