DCCA Candidate Ron Clayton - President

My name is Ron Clayton and I am running as the Nominating Committee’s choice for president of DCCA. I am from Louisiana and a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans. In 2007 I realized my long-time dream of purchasing a home in DC and relocating to Dupont. I joined DCCA in 2008 and am a member of the Board of Directors. I have more than 15 years experience in management, marketing and public relations at large law firms in NYC and LA and am an active civic leader and volunteer in the Dupont community. Next year, I will attend the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law to pursue a career in public interest law.
As president of DCCA, my goals are to expand and diversify membership to ensure the organization is inclusive and representative of the entire Dupont community. I will greatly increase transparency throughout all levels of the organization and re-establish a sense of common goals and community within the membership. As a team, our new Board will directly address present difficulties with certain groups and constituencies in the neighborhood as a challenge to be met with constructive efforts, not pitched battles. With a focus on the future and an eye on the past, we offer new blood, new energy, new ideas and a new sense of purpose for DCCA, while never forgetting the accomplishments and immense contributions of those who precede us. I ask that you kindly vote for me and for the entire Nominating Committee’s slate of candidates.
