DCCA Candidate Maureen McLellan - 2 Year Director

Maureen McLellan grew up outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism from San Diego State University. She lives on the 1700 block of P Street and works for Continental Airlines in their government affairs office. While in San Diego, Maureen worked for Save Our Heritage Organization, a local historic preservation group for six years. She also worked for a marketing firm planning cultural events. She is a volunteer in DC public schools, the Washington Zoo, and other local organizations. Maureen firmly believes that DCCA should have representation from all age, ethnic and socio-economic groups and remains impressed with DCCA's history of good work in her neighborhood. Maureen looks forward to learning from long-time DCCA members while bringing others of her generation into the Association. She is especially interested in motivating residents to get and stay involved and excited about their neighborhood. She also has a keen interest in providing good neighborhood public schools, preserving history, and helping to provide the resources to allow residents to age in their homes. She acknowledges that there is much work to do, but refuses to retreat from this challenge.
